Why Bitcoin Captures More Value Even When XRP Does More

Bitcoin and XRP represent two very different visions for cryptocurrency. This video takes an unfiltered, evidence-based look at why Bitcoin captures far more value today even though the XRP Ledger can do far more with money. It compares Bitcoin mining, energy use, proof-of-work security, the Lightning Network and regulated investment products with XRPL consensus, low transaction costs, payment channels, auto-bridging, Ripple Payments and XRP liquidity.

Bitcoin’s present lead comes from a simple demand model: ownership is the product, and conventional finance has become exceptionally effective at packaging and distributing Bitcoin exposure. XRPL already moves and exchanges value faster, more cheaply and with far less energy, but network utility doesn’t automatically create demand for XRP. We examine Bitcoin’s declining block rewards and future security funding, the ways XRP could turn useful financial work into recurring demand, and the competition from stablecoins, tokenized bank deposits and BIS Project Nexus. The evidence explains today’s value gap without assuming Bitcoin must remain the permanent winner.
